01The brief

What it had to do

A neighbourhood barbershop that lives on walk-ins and regulars. People find it on their phones, often a block away, and decide in seconds. The site had to feel like the shop and make booking the obvious next step.

02What we built

Inside the concept

  • A home page with a slowly turning 3D barber pole and a sticky "Book a chair" bar
  • Services and a full price list, also as a printable PDF
  • Online booking, a barbers page and a membership page
  • A gallery of cuts, a journal and a reviews page
  • A visit page with the map, hours and directions

03Design decisions

Colour and type

Near-black with one brass accent, so prices and the booking button are the brightest things on screen. Tall condensed headings echo old shopfront lettering.

  • Page#0B0B0C
  • Cards#161617
  • Text#F2EBDD
  • Brass#C9A24B
  • Brass, light#E4C77A
  • OswaldHeadings, set in capitals like shop signage
  • MontserratBody text and buttons

04Speed

Measured, not promised

  • 89Performance
  • 100Accessibility
  • 100Best practices
  • 69SEO

Lighthouse 12.8.2, mobile preset, measured on 30 October 2026 against a copy of the concept served locally. SEO is held back on purpose: every concept is set to "noindex" so it never competes with real businesses in search.
